The new Earth Pack released today showcases a revamped look for each of the German brand¡¯s top silos including a mixture of earthy and exciting highlights. We already talked about the new f50 adiZero colorway, but can now add to that with these new styles for the Predator LZ, NitroCharge 1.0 and adiPure 11pro.
The new Glow / Earth Green / Solar Zest colored Earth Pack adizero f50 is the latest look of one of the best speed cleats in the market, known for maximum acceleration and pinpoint changes of direction. You might see players such as Gareth Bale and Edinson Cavani wearing this style soon, but make sure to keep up with our boot spotting for others showcasing this style, such as Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Meanwhile, the new Predator Lethal Zones take the Solar Zest highlights seen in other styles, now applied to the 'Lethal Zones' technology to deliver outstanding ball control, touch, accuracy and power. Complementing a classy white upper, the boot will include dark ¡°Earth Green¡± adidas branding. This style will probably be Oscar and Ozil among other top adidas players.
For the Nitrocharge, adidas has released a very unique looking Earth Green / Running White / Solar Zest colorway. The unique Energysling around the forefoot is highlighted in orange over a dark green upper to create one of the best colorways seen yet for adidas¡¯ newest silo. Known to be worn by players adidas calls 'The Engine' of their teams, watch out for the likes of Dani Alves and Javi Martinez to be debuting this style very soon.
Last but not least, the 11pro features a Black / Running White / Solar Slime colorway for a simple, stylish look. If this style looks a little bit off compared to the rest of the collection, it¡¯s because it is actually a previous release that has been packed together with the other three colorways. This colorway is a bit less flashy than the rest, but the premium, ultra-soft and ultra-light Taurus make the 11pro a top pick for comfort if you would rather opt for a more traditional boot worn by star players such as Philipp Lahm and Frank Lampard.

Nike is starting a revolution with the release of the Nike Tiempo V. The latest edition in the Tiempo silo has been updated with innovative technology for the modern warrior on the field.
The end result will surely be one of the most desired leather soccer cleats available in 2014! The Tiempo Legend V already has the support of top players at every position; from Manchester United¡¯s goalkeeper David De Gea, to Barcelona defenders Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol, to Juventus¡¯ forward Carlos Tevez. They are all Tiempo.
Nike is rumored to have been working on this Tiempo reboot for the past 2-3 years, and a prototype version was tested for months by Nike athletes. Javier Pastore of PSG was spotted wearing them in training back in October.
The first colorway is Desert Sand/Black/Atomic Orange (grey/black/orange in in layman¡¯s terms). The new Tiempo Legend's upper is white on the outside and toe, transitioning to an orange instep. The orange is continued on the sole as well as some of the detailing in the laces, collar and stitching. The cleat has a silver tongue. Bold, black Nike swooshs feature on both sides.
The upper is made from waterproof k-leather, incorporating Nike's All Conditions Control (ACC) technology. The leather is backed and supported by a mesh frame which is allowed to come through in the look of the leather. The heel is made with Nike Hypershield technology.
The toe of the cleat has a quilted stitching which reinforces the classic look of the cleat. There is additional stich detailing around the front of the toe of the cleat. The midsole is focused on 90-minute comfort and has a perforated sockliner with poron inserts to make the last mile of your game as pleasant as the first one.
The updated outsole is made from a dual-density TPU with specific plate designs for the FG, SG-PRO, and AG. The sole allows for ideal flex between the mid-foot and forefoot to aid in control in tight spaces and working out of them.
With the new Tiempo Legend V, Nike has made a difficult task - refreshing one of its classic silos with cutting edge technology - look simple. The cleat's design will remind Nike fans of Ronaldinho's R10 model while the perfomance will be up to the challenge of today's most competitive players.
For most Predator enthusiasts, this 1998 release stands amongst the top of the legendary range. It is the Adidas Predator Accelerator to be exact and I took the opportunity to pick up a pair a few weeks ago to feature in the Cleatology series. The Accelerator was the boot released by Adidas for the 1998 World Cup in France. At the time,?Zinedine Zidane and David Beckham were the lead players showcasing the boot. Zidane scored twice in the finale to help France win – although both goals came from his head.
My personal experience with these boots started out on a negative note, but thankfully it had nothing to do with actual performance. I wasn’t fortunate enough to be able to buy a pair when they were released, so instead I was left watching several teammates sporting them through their first season. Eventually, a pair found its way into my gear bag but it was closer to 2000 when the range had moved onto the Precision. The pictured version is the White/Black/Predator Red colorway – head down below if you want to see more in-depth images and details.
For those of you interested in finding a pair, eBay’s “Predator Accelerator“ listings is the place to look – although don’t expect to find any pairs for under $250!
When they were released, the one thing I do remember is how good they looked and how much I wanted a pair! When it came to performance, what a great boot they were and they really do still live up to the hype of being one of the best Adidas Predators released. The Predator Zone was composed of specifically positioned rubber panels through the forefoot that allowed for added power behind shots.
A slight negative was the floppy tongue and I’m not sure anyone ever really figured out what exactly to do with it. Wrapping and tying the laces over it was the best option, but the large tongue still had a tendency to fall out. On a final note, the pair pictured were not brand new when I purchased them. In fact, they had seen their fair share of use. But with a little TLC and some intricate detailing, they have been restored to “showcase” state, and by Showcase I mean these are already sitting on a shelf for viewing purposes only.
Where does the Accelerator sit on your top Predator list, and were you ever fortunate enough to own a pair? Share your stories below!
