Since losing to Spurs in midweek Chelsea were due to have an uphill battle against a Stoke City side who were 6 games unbeaten away from home.???
Chelsea, however, were not in a mood to be trifled with hammering 7 past Stoke with no reply, they were a different team to that which lost to Spurs!
As well as a change in attitude, many of the Chelsea players opted for a change in football boots to help keep one hand on the Premiership title!
Nicolas Anelka
Last week we reported that the French forward had made his long-awaited switch to the Puma PowerCat 1.10 obviously after losing in them Anelka felt the need to switch back to his Puma v1.10s!
Didier Drogba
Didier Drogba has been a vocal supporter of the new Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly II even having a big say over the colour scheme and flicker technology in the upper. But that hasnt stopped the big Ivorian from making the change back to the Black/Volt Superfly Is (complete with Nike (RED) laces!).
Michael Ballack
Ballack has been playing consistently in the Champions League Blue/White colourway of the Predator_X??? for months now, presumably because theyre a great match for his both his Chelsea home and away kits! But the German midfielder, instead chose the launch colourway of White/Brown/Yellow for Sundays game.
Salomon Kalou
Hat-trick hero Kalou was instrumental in the defeat of Stoke, claiming his first hat-trick since his days at Feyenoord. The nimble Ivory Coast international opted to wear his bright Macaw Green/Black/White adidas f50is for the duration of the game an unusual choice as hes been wearing the Champions League Scarlet/Gold/White for the past few games.
And We doubt hell be switching back anytime soon!
